COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
MONDAY, DECEMBER 30, 2013
The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at 8:00
a.m. on Monday, December 30, 2013 in the Conference Room in the Commissioners’
Office at 500 Court Street, Suite A, Defiance, Ohio 43512. Chairman Otto L. Nicely called the meeting to
order. Also present were Commissioners James E.
Harris, Jr. and Thomas L. Kime, Sherry Carnahan, Finance Manager/Administrator,
and Stephanie Metz, Clerk.
The Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed
various resolutions, contracts and documents. The Commissioners also reviewed
the calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.
The Commissioners
approved the 2014 General Fund Budget in the amount of $10,359,555.31. This is
an overall increase of 0.25% and includes funding for 27 pay periods, instead
of the usual 26 pay periods.
Sherry met with
the Commissioners to open the Request for Proposals for On-Site Clinical
Services. The only one received was from Activate Healthcare.
Warren Schlatter,
Defiance County Engineer, met with the Commissioners for a weekly update.
Rick Edmonds,
Defiance County Board of Developmental Disabilities/Good Samaritan School, met
with the Commissioners to introduce Gina Schell, who will begin as
Superintendent on January 4, 2014.
The
Commissioners’ Office is closing at Noon on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 and will
also be closed on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 in observance of New Year’s Day.
