DEFIANCE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
MONDAY,
APRIL 27, 2015
The Board of Defiance County Commissioners
met in regular session at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, April 27, 2015 in the Conference
Room in the Commissioners’ Office at 500 Court Street, Suite A, Defiance, Ohio 43512. Commissioner Thomas L. Kime called the
meeting to order. Also present were Commissioner
Ryan Mack and Otto L. Nicely, Sherry Carnahan, Finance Manager/Administrator,
and Stephanie Metz, Clerk.
Russ Herman, Defiance County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, met with
the Commissioners to discuss pending and imminent legal matters.
The Commissioners met in General Session and
approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents. The Commissioners
also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.
Warren Schlatter,
Defiance County Engineer, met with the Commissioners for his weekly update.
Warren informed the Board that work is continuing on Harris Road; they will
begin closing the road to through traffic while the crews are working. Gerken
Paving, Inc. has begun the patching work in Highland and Richland Townships.
Warren stated that they have also starting marking the road right of way lines
in the agricultural lands where the roadside grading work is planned for the
year, so that farmers do not plant in the construction areas.
The Commissioners
attended the Four County Solid Waste District Board of Directors and the Four
County Joint Board meetings in Paulding County. At the Four County Joint Board
meeting, the Defiance, Fulton, Henry and Williams County Commissioners
discussed the availability of Prosecuting Attorneys, Public Defender/Indigent
Defense, and the re-appointment of Ricki Slattery to the Northwest Ohio Juvenile
Detention Board.
