DEFIANCE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2016

 

The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 19, 2016 in the Commissioners’ Office Conference Room at 500 Court Street, Suite A, Defiance, Ohio 43512. Commissioner Otto L. Nicely called the meeting to order.  Also present were Commissioners Ryan Mack and Thomas L. Kime, Sherry Carnahan, Finance Manager/Administrator, and Stephanie Metz, Clerk.

 

Greg Reinhart and Janalee Rethmel, Defiance County Wastewater Operations, met with the Commissioners to provide a monthly update. Greg reported the following maintenance items being completed: cleaned pump at Christy pump station; installed new control board at Breckler Road pump station; changed grinder pump on Switzer Road; replaced ground fault sensors at Auglaize River Sewer pump station #3; replaced motor saver at Paulding County’s pump station #6. Greg reported billing $58,026.34, collecting $104,757.10, and having expenses of $36,432.48 in August.

 

State Auditor’s Office met with the Commissioners and the Audit Committee for the post audit meeting.

 

Kim Moss, Jamie Gerken, Mike Prigge, and Ron Clinger, Defiance County General Health District, met with the Commissioners to provide an update on the Mark Center sewage issue. John Panico, Mark Township Trustee was also in attendance. Ron informed the Board that testing will continue to try to find a solution to the issue.

 

Warren Schlatter, Defiance County Engineer, met with the Commissioners to provide a weekly update for the Engineer’s Office and a monthly update for the Landfill. Warren informed the Board that work continues on Kramer Road, and the contractor is continuing grading on Scott Road between Wieland Road and Trinity Road.

 

The Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents. The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.

 

Lisa Stiltner, Defiance County Probate/Juvenile Court, met with the Commissioners to request an additional $28,000.00 for appointed attorney fees. The Board approved the request.
