The Board of Defiance County Commissioners
met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2017 in the Second
Floor Conference Room of the Commissioners’ Session Room at 500 Court Street,
Defiance, Ohio 43512. Commissioner Ryan Mack called the meeting to order. Also present were Commissioners Gary Plotts
and Mick Pocratsky, Sherry Carnahan, Finance Manager/Administrator, and
Stephanie Metz, Clerk.
The Commissioners met in General Session and
approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents. The
Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed upcoming
meetings.
Larry Woods and Ali Redmond, CORSA; and Julie
Rittenhouse, Public Safety Services’ Coordinator, met with the Commissioners to
review the appraisal of the Courthouse and Courthouse Annex Building.
Les McCaslin, Four
County ADAMhs Board, met with the Commissioners to provide an update.
The Commissioners attended a meeting with the
City of Defiance Board of Control at the City Building. It is planned to have
regularly scheduled meetings to continue the open dialog between the City and County.
The following topics were discussed: walk/bike paths; Land Bank; blighted homes
and commercial properties; housing projects; Brownfields; economic development;
Clinton Street bridge project and housing of safety services; Junior
High/Middle School building; retail development; Hire Road overpass.
Kevin Hancock, Ditch Maintenance, met with
the Commissioners to discuss reviews of construction bases for ditch projects.
Dennis Miller and Ellen Smith, Maumee Valley
Planning Organization, met with the Commissioners to provide an overview of the
programing offered by Maumee Valley Planning Organization.
