The Board of Defiance County Commissioners
met in regular session at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2017 in the in the
Hicksville Village Council Room, Hicksville, Ohio. Commissioner Ryan Mack
called the meeting to order. Also
present were Commissioners Mick Pocratsky and Gary Plotts, and Stephanie Metz,
Clerk.
Prior to the meeting, the Commissioners
toured Tri-State Dairy, LLC. Tri-Stated Dairy, LLC. is
on Wendell Avenue in Hicksville. They are a Cheese Manufacturing Plant. They
purchase milk from local farms (Tri-State area) to process into cheese. They
carry the following types of cheese: Muenster, Mild Swiss, Baby Swiss, Colby
Jack and Colby. Tri-State Dairy, LLC. currently
distributes all the way from Florida to Wisconsin their specific version of
Muenster cheese. Much of their Muenster is shipped to Wisconsin to be shredded
and combined with other cheeses for pizza businesses. Individuals interested in
local foods may purchase their cheese wholesale at the front door of the
business.
The Commissioners met in General Session and
approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents. The
Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed upcoming
meetings.
The Commissioners have scheduled the next
Lunch on the Road. It will be held at the Defiance County Fairgrounds (County Government
Building) on Wednesday, August 23rd from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
