The Board of
Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, September
14, 2017 in the Commissioners’ Session Room at 500 Court Street, Defiance, Ohio
43512. Commissioner Mick Pocratsky called the meeting to order. Also present were Commissioner Gary Plotts,
Sherry Carnahan, Fiscal Manager/Administrator, and Stephanie Metz, Clerk.
The Commissioners
met in General Session and approved and signed various resolutions, contracts
and documents. The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and
discussed upcoming meetings.
The Commissioners certified the August Solid
Waste Disposal Submittal Forms for the Landfill facilities. Defiance Township,
as the host government agency received $2,542.33. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources
(ODNR) also received $3,795.38 for the construction, & demolition debris
(C&DD) waste. Monthly (MSW) Disposal fees paid to the Ohio EPA for the
Defiance County Landfill was $35,728.74. The Four County Solid Waste District
received $12,943.52.
Greg Reinhart,
Defiance County Wastewater Operations met with the Commissioners to provide a
monthly update. Greg reported the following items being completed in August:
new aeration piping and valves replaced at Middle Gordon Creek; installed two
new floats and cleaned a float at the EMA pump station; replaced a grinder
check valve on Christy Road; cleaned the pump at Christy pump station; rebuilt
an air release valve at Paulding County’s Auglaize River Sewer pump station #6.
Greg reported billing out $58,518.34, collecting $112,554.70, and having
expenses of $76,037.52 in August.
Morris Murray and
Russ Herman, Defiance County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, met with the Commissioners
to provide an update on various pending legal matters.
