The Board of Defiance
County Commissioners met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, February 12,
2018 in the in the Commissioners’ Session Room at 500 Court Street, Defiance,
Ohio 43512. President Ryan Mack called the meeting to order. Also present were Commissioners Gary Plotts
and Mick Pocratsky, Sherry Carnahan, Finance Manager/Administrator, and
Stephanie Metz, Clerk.
The Commissioners met
in General Session; they approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and
documents. The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed
upcoming meetings.
Warren Schlatter,
Defiance County Engineer, met with the Commissioners to provide a weekly update
for the Engineer’s Office and a monthly update for the Landfill. Warren
reported sales of $371,639.83 in January from 11,136.88 tons and 43,759 cubic
yards; this compares to sales of $340,803.39 from 10,663.34 tons and 39,807 cubic
yards in January, 2017. Defiance County Environmental
Services will continue the recycling program in Hicksville on the 1st
Friday of each month, even though Werlor Waste
Control also offers these services in Hicksville.
Julie Voll, Defiance
County Family and Children First Coordinator, met with the Commissioners to provide
a quarterly update. The Defiance County Early Childhood screenings are
scheduled for February 26th in Hicksville
and March 19th in Defiance.
