The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, March 26, 2018 in the in the Commissioners’ Session Room at 500 Court Street, Defiance, Ohio 43512. Vice-President Mick Pocratsky called the meeting to order.  Also present were Commissioner Gary Plotts, Sherry Carnahan, Finance Manager/Administrator, and Stephanie Metz, Clerk.

 

The Commissioners met in General Session; they approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents. The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.

 

The Commissioners awarded the bid for the sale of 10657 Farmer Mark Road Property to Bradford and Valarie Peter in the amount submitted by them of $31,500.00.

 

The Commissioners scheduled the next Lunch on the Road for Friday, April 26 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at St. Mike’s Golf Course/Duffer’s Den. The Commissioners encourage citizens to come join them and other Elected Officials to discuss concerns and topics that involve Defiance County.

 

The Commissioners are seeking applications of persons interested in being appointed to the Northwest Ohio Regional Child Abuse and Child Neglect Prevention Council. The Northwest Ohio Regional Child Abuse and Child Neglect Prevention Council’s purpose is to address child abuse and child neglect prevention services through a process of identifying needs, determining strategies to address those needs. The Northwest Ohio Regional Child Abuse and Child Neglect Prevention Council is directed by Mercy Health. The Commissioners are seeking two individuals to provide various areas of expertise, depending on their professional or personal background. Each representative is expected to possess a holistic awareness and understanding of local child abuse and child neglect prevention efforts including, but not limited to, the local providers/vendors who are implementing prevention programs and services, where gaps exist in prevention program/service provision, and where funds for prevention programs and services can be effectively leveraged. The individual would be appointed to a two-year term, may be re-appointed, but may only serve for two consecutive terms. Application forms available at the Commissioners’ office, 500 Court Street, Suite A, Defiance, OH from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday and at www.defiance-county.com.  Applications accepted until 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2018.
