The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, April 9, 2018 in the in the Commissioners’ Session Room at 500 Court Street, Defiance, Ohio 43512. President Ryan Mack called the meeting to order.  Also present were Commissioners Gary Plotts and Mick Pocratsky, Sherry Carnahan, Finance Manager/Administrator, and Stephanie Metz, Clerk.

 

The Commissioners met in General Session; they approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents. The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.

 

Warren Schlatter, Defiance County Engineer, met with the Commissioners to provide a weekly update for the Engineer’s Office and a monthly update for the Landfill. Warren reported that the road widening projects and Watson Road bridge project may begin next week, weather permitting. Warren reported Landfill sales of $423,177.11 from 52,204 cubic yards and 13,364.55 tons in March. This compared to sales of $348,283.52 from 41,453 cubic yards and 10,798.53 tons in March 2017.

 

Bill Brandt, Customized Information Systems, met with the Commissioners to discuss the RFP submitted for IT services.

 

Jerry Overmier, Beilharz Architects, Inc., met with the Commissioners to discuss a possible remodeling project for the first floor of the Commissioners’ Building. The Commissioners will continue to review options and funding before making a decision.

 

Bob Arend, Arend Enterprises, met with the Commissioners to discuss the RFP submitted for IT services.
