The
Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on
Monday, May 7, 2018 in the in the Commissioners’ Session Room at 500 Court
Street, Defiance, Ohio 43512. Vice President Mick Pocratsky called the meeting
to order. Also present were Commissioners
Ryan Mack and Gary Plotts, Sherry Carnahan, Finance Manager/Administrator, and
Stephanie Metz, Clerk.
The
Commissioners met in General Session; they approved and signed various
resolutions, contracts and documents. The Commissioners also reviewed the
calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.
Warren
Schlatter, Defiance County Engineer, met with the Commissioners to provide a
weekly update for the Engineer’s Office and a monthly update for the Landfill. Warren
reported that pavement patching continues. The widening contractor is continuing
work on The Bend Road. The abutment work on the Watson Road bridge
is also continuing. Warren reported that April was the second largest month on
record for the Landfill. There were sales of $442,518.32 from 52,879 cubic
yards and 15,035.31 tons; this compares to sales of $366,488.65 from 42,642 cubic
yards and 11,482.67 tons in April, 2017.
