The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2018 in the in the Hicksville Village Council Room in Hicksville, Ohio. President Ryan Mack called the meeting to order. Also present were Commissioners Gary Plotts, Sherry Carnahan, Finance Manager/Administrator, and Stephanie Metz, Clerk.

The Commissioners met in General Session; they approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents. The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.

The Commissioners will be having Lunch on the Road on Friday, September 14, 2018 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Apache Dairy Bar in Sherwood. Please join them to share your ideas, questions or concerns regarding your community.

John Fifer and Denise Sutter, Christmas Cruise Thru, met with the Commissioners to discuss this year’s event. They stated that there will be fireworks again, but the cost has increase from last year. They inquired if the Board would be willing to donate funds for the fireworks. The Board stated that they will donate at least the same amount as in 2017, but will discuss it as a full Board to finalize the amount.
