The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018 in the in the Commissionersí Session Room at 500 Court Street, Defiance, Ohio 43512. Vice-President Mick Pocratsky called the meeting to order.† Also present were Commissioner Gary Plotts, Sherry Carnahan, Finance Manager/Administrator, and Stephanie Metz, Clerk.
Jerry Hayes, Defiance County Economic Development Director, and Jill Little, Defiance County Auditor, met with the Commissioners to review the proposed Enterprise Zone agreement with Fort Winchester Investment Partners, LLC/DECKED, LLC. and the amendment to the Enterprise Zone agreement for Hillandale Farms Ohio, Inc. After review of the information, the Board approved the proposed amendment for Hillandale Farms Ohio, Inc. and approved a 90% exemption for 10 years for Fort Winchester Investment Partners, LLC/DECKED, LLC.
The Commissioners met in General Session; they approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents. The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.
Amy Galbraith, Defiance County Clerk of Courts, and Defiance County Juvenile/Probate Court Judge Strausbaugh met with the Commissioners to discuss scanning their old hard-bound books. The Commissioners requested to see a copy of the proposal before a decision would be made.
Lisa Weaner and Stacie Fedderke, Fort Defiance Humane Society, met with the Commissioners to provide an update.
Jim Harris, Brunersburg Water & Sewer District, and Todd Jenkins, Peterman Associates, met with the Commissioners to discuss the Evansport Water System. The Ohio EPA granted a 45 day extension for this project. A final plan will need to be submitted by November 8, 2018.
